Paula Ibanez was born and raised in Valencia, Spain, where she studied nursing and healthcare management. She continued her university studies in UK where she specialised in midwifery. She worked as clinical and research midwife in London. She has been an advocate for women's health, empowering and helping them to achieve a positive experience during their pregnancy. At present she works as a clinical Nurse/ Midwife in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department at Sidra Medical and Research Center. She is a member of the Practice development committee and has special interest on improving services. She is passionate about Healthcare Innovation and an example of that is 10 Moons project, co-owner with Engineer Sofia Ferreira, creating an interdisciplinary team that won the 2017 SMART pitch day. 10 moons, is a smartphone app that follows the journey of women through their pregnancy, providing education based on scientific evidence ( in both Arabic and English ), individual pregnancy plans of care, and ultrasound scans of the baby. The main objective is to increase patient experience, facilitating communication between users and Sidra. It will make a difference to women and families as they will become active partners of their care.
