Dr. Marincola received his MD, summa cum laude from the University of Milan, and Surgery training at Stanford University, CA. His research interest lies in translational medicine and focuses on the development of strategies for the dynamic study of patients’ responses to therapy. His approach has brought seminal observations regarding the mechanisms leading to rejection of tumors, allograft, graft versus host disease and autoimmunity. Dr. Marincola was until recently the inaugural Chief Research Officer of Sidra Medical and Research Centre, Doha, Qatar and Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. Before then, Dr. Marincola was a tenured investigator at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). In 2003, Dr. Marincola founded the Journal of Translational Medicine and the sister Journal Translational Medicine Communications of which he is Editor-in-Chief. He is Co-Editor-in-Chief of Clinical and Translational Medicine, US Senior Editor of Immunotherapy, and Associate Editor of The Journal of Immunotherapy. Dr. Marincola is past-president of the Society for the Immunotherapy of Cancer. Dr. Marincola is also an award winning fiction writer. Recently, Dr. Marincola joined AbbVie Co. to develop an Immune Oncology Discovery Program in the Bay Area, California
